We are hiring a Site Reliability Engineer within our IT department.



+ Automate the building, monitoring and management of our on-prem & hosted infrastructure used every day to host all of CAC's many services.


+ Have the chance to affect change while working on elaborate challenges using the latest cloud and on-prem Data Center technology.


+ Build scalable systems by automating, measuring, and monitoring all the inner workings of our services.


+ Ensure our services are always operationally ready and maintain responsibility over infrastructure speed and consistency.


+ Research, recommend and implement emerging technologies in the Data Center space.



Responsibilities in your area will include:



+ Work with teammates to implement highly-available and scalable architectures for core and third-party components.


+ Research and recommend emerging technology in support of our Strategic Goals.


+ Solve availability/performance problems and build software-based solutions to prevent failure.


+ Implement infrastructure build and automated deployments.


+ Manage automated production deployments.


+ Be aware of operations-related issues affecting our systems.


+ Measure availability metrics when under SLA.


+ Participate in on-call rotation.


+ Contribute as part of a multi-disciplined team to maintain a deep understanding of system functionality, including performance, availability, emergency response, capacity planning, etc.



Position Requirements:



+ Proficiency in at least one of following languages: Java Script, Python, PowerShell , Bash




+ Strong understanding of industry standard cloud technology (analytics, monitoring, code deployment, system scalability, load balancers, web servers, auto-scaling, etc)


+ In depth knowledge & experience in one or more of: Linux, Docker, Puppet, GIT, VMware and AWS systems


+ Experience deploying or managing large scale distributed environments


+ Experience deploying or managing complex enterprise networks (NSX / ACI)


+ Bonus points for microservice environments


+ Bonus points for container services


+ Track record of successfully addressing performance, scalability and latency challenges


+ Work onsite at the required CA work location


+ Minimum of 5 years in advanced VMWare administration required


+ Ability to participate in an on-call rotation 24x7x365 and ability to work night and weekends on a weekly basis required


+ Experience maintaining large-scale, multi-tiered datacenter environment


+ Strong understanding of VMware (vSphere Family)


+ Strong performance troubleshooting experience around VMware technologies


+ Experience implementing, managing and administering Chargeback tools (VMware vChargeback)


+ Experience implementing & managing SRM Tools (VMware Site Recovery Manager), or similar replication tools


+ Strong Understanding of Cisco UCS Technologies & 'Next Generation' Datacenter technologies


+ Strong understanding of Enterprise processes & change management


+ Strong understanding of monitoring tools, and the importance of proactive monitoring and incident avoidance


+ Experience managing a highly performing VDI environment


+ PowerShell Scripting Knowledge


+ Windows 2003/2008 (X86 and X64) Active Directory experience


+ Server patch management


+ Understanding of high availability and fault-tolerant technology implementations


+ Ability to lead and present architecture concepts to team members outside of immediate workgroup


+ Ability to communicate to business stakeholders in a clear manor


+ Understanding of Storage Technologies


+ Experience with various backup solutions such as Symantec


+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment


+ Mentoring skills for more Jr. team members


+ Clear documentation for all supported processes & technologies under area of responsibility
